Public Supervision in the Light of Commanding the Good and Forbidding the Evil (With an Emphasis on IRI Constitution)

This study examines public supervision in the light of commanding the good and forbidding the evil (with an emphasis on IRI Constitution). In Islamic governance, the duty of commanding the good and forbidding the evil is discussed as control and public supervision mechanism in Islam. Then, internal and external reforms can dominate a society. Based on practical solutions, social correction seems more effective and efficient. To not allow devil’s domination, commanding the good and forbidding the evil must be applied as the main supervision tool. Any person is required to command the good and forbid the evil. His commanding and forbidding is not limited to a certain group of individuals. Rather, it includes all society levels and even rulers. Formed based on Islamic lessons and principles IRI constitution takes this supervision as its tenet. It is evidently implied in the eight principle of the constitution.
