Imparing the impact of the supportive program of food basket in improving growth and malnutrition children under five years old during the years 94-97

Introduction:Childhood is the most important stage of life, for specific nutritional needs of children are the most vulnerable to malnutrition, The donation of food basket to children under 5 years who have impared growth or malnutrition among families in need is one of the supportive program that support cooperation with the imam Khomeini relief committee since year 1384 for continuos runs in khozestan province, the goal of this study was comparing the impact of the supportive program of food basket in improving growth and malnutrition children under five years old during the years 94-97 Methods:in this descriptive study every year 1029 five years old child with impaired growth and malnutrition among families in need in Abadan, Khorramshahr, Shadegan were elected, given nutritional support basket contains the needs of children under five years old by the imam Khomeini relief committee, based on the food program of nutrition improvement Unit of Health Department. Results: Children improved through food basket during the years 94-97, respectively were 61.3%, 62.5%, 63%, 70.3%. Conclusion:This study indicates the success of the food basket program with the proper training to improve growth children under five years old are covered.
