چکیده مقاله:

Adenosarcoma is a rare tumor which is defined as a biphasic tumor composed of both sarcomatousstroma and benign epithelium. While the sarcomatous component usually is a low-gradehomologous uterine sarcoma, the epithelium most often consists of endometrium-like cells. Uterineadenosarcoma represents 5.5–9.0% of uterine sarcomas and ~1% of female genital tractmalignancies. Because of the rarity of uterine adenosarcoma, limited data are available to helpguide therapy, and the data that do exist were derived mostly from small retrospective case seriesand population-based analyses. Hysterectomy is recommended, but the role of staging withlymphadenectomy and/or oophorectomy is uncertain. Here we report a case of adenosarcoma ofthe uterine corpus. Case Presentation. A 33-year-old woman presented with abnormal uterinebleeding. Ultrasound scans revealed an endometrial polyp in uterine cavity. A hysteroscopy andendometrial curettage revealed adenosarcoma. An abdominopelvic CT scan was normal. Totalabdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. The lesion wasconfined to the uterus. Histopathological final diagnosis was adenosarcoma. Her postoperativecourse was uneventful and she was discharged without postoperative treatment and remains alivewithout disease 8 years after the surgery. Conclusions: The most common symptom of adenosarcoma of the uterus is abnormal uterinebleeding. Younger patients are more often misdiagnosed. Abnormal uterine bleeding in patients canbe the result of cancer. Hysteroscopy should also be performed if polypoid lesions are diagnosed.
