Evaluation of tele-radiology capability in remote maxillofacial triages

Background and Objective: The use of health technologies in health centers is increasing today. One of these technologies is tele-radiology or tele-radiology, which has been widely used in maxillofacial triages. The aim of this study was to investigate the capability of teleradiology(remote imaging) in maxillofacial triage. Material and Methods:The study was conducted systematically, by searching the scopus, science direct, PubMed and Google Scholar search engine databases and using PRISMA workflow charts to select articles. The English language input and the time range2019-2015 were used for the search. There were about 110 articles, 32 of which were included in the study. Then, the qualitative evaluation of articles was done based on the 12-question CASP diagnostic test study checklist and finally 9 articles related to the study were selected.Finding:The results showed that the use and application of tele-radiology in maxillofacial triage can have a significant impact on its treatment and recovery. Therefore, using the results of tele-radiology can make a huge change in the field of health, especially in maxillofacial surgery and triage.Conclusion: Studies have shown that remote radiology can be appropriate for the determination of injured patients referred to non-referral hospitals for correct referral to a maxillofacial surgery center. And it s also cost-effective and time-consuming.
