چکیده مقاله:

In 21 century extensive improvement made in neonatal care, complicacy of severe preterm birth still contribute to major causes of infant mortality and long-term morbidity to children less than 5 years of age. Current clinical findings confirm modest or no benefit of the efficient therapies for the protection or treatment of this disease. So the new cure strategy is needed to be applied. Stem cell therapy as a novel therapeutic implement is quickly emerging for several neonatal diseases with promising preclinical results that hold hope for clinical approach. Stem cell-based therapies specifically mesenchymal stromal cells isolated from bone marrow, adipose tissue or umbilical cord present a new insight in curing the adult patients and so far there is a promising result for the treatment of several diseases. Despite that still large number of studies needed to be conducted for a neonatal complex disease such as hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy bronchopulmonary dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, cerebral palsy. Here we will discuss about the pros and cons of application of stem cell treatment in early ages.
