چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a profound personal tragedy to couples seeking parenthood and is a clinical challenge to their physician. Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a frequently occurring human infertility-related disease affecting ~1% of women. Its cause remained unknown in about 50%, which strongly suggests that genetic factors may contribute towards the phenotype. Methods : Genetic algorithmic approach for workup of RPL/RSA is an applicable tool for the genetic counselors. It is evident that, the comprehensive guideline for RSA has needed in our country. This guideline is an adapted guideline that prepared after studying the literature and adapted to the country condition and the experts experiences. Results : In this study, we present the step-by-step genetic evaluation of the parents and/or fetus or product of conception tissues. The specific considerations related to the patients situation and sample availabilities are spot. Technical and laboratories guides for various sampling and testing are given in the presentation. The laboratories methods with their advantages and costs are considered. Conclusion : We suggest RPL algorithmic approach to the genetic counselors for better management of this disorder. There are a few simple things to remember like the importance of preservation of the samples and tissues, so sample banking is one of the main effective actions in this field.
