Background and Aim : : Among the types of suicide attempts and referral to poisoning sectors. The extent and trend of poisoning especially (Self harm) The oldest and most common methods of self-harmful self-poisoning for suicidal attempts over time and in different countries are with the available drugs and materials. To evaluate the epidemiology of suicide attempts through deliberate poisoning and assessment of its contribution to patients referred to poisonous areas of reference hospitals in Iran in 2004, a study was designed and implemented.Methods : This cross-sectional study was carried out in 723 people with specialty poisoning hospitals in Isfahan and interviewed according to a questionnaire by the research group.Results : The results of this study showed that from a total of 723 samples taken in referral hospitals in Isfahan, 550 people were intentionally and poisoned for suicidal purposes. In a total view, 445% of these% of Isfahan, 76.3% of other materials / 5% of psychoactive substances, and finally 18 (10.2%) of chemical pesticides, 28% of them were 1.80% 59 people used 7 chemicals to commit suicide. More than 31% of those who used suicide attempted to use benzodiazepines. The most common cause of poisoning was overdose, while in the case of accidental poisoning, psychotropic substance abuse was reported as 44.2%.Conclusion : Regarding the prevalence of arbitrators and arbitrariness in suicide attempt as well as the significant proportion of cases of suicide attempts in patients referred to the poisoning sectors of hospitals, consideration of preventive measures has been discussed at all three levels. has taken
