THE ROLE OF REWARD AND PUNISHMENT SENSITIVITY IN PREDICTING THE QUIT ADDICTION SELF-EFFICACY IN INDIVIDUAL WITH SUBSTANCE USE

چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : Increasing addiction can destroy the ethical, economic and social foundations of a society.Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between reward and punishment sensitivity and quit addiction self-efficacy in individual with substance useMethods : This research is descriptive-correlational study. 200 individuals were selected as sample from camps and addiction treatment centers under the supervision of the Welfare Organization of Ardabil province by available sampling method. To collect data, Bramson’s Quit Addiction self-Efficacy questionnaire and sensitivities to punishment and reward were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 24 using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis.Results : The results of this study showed that there is a significant negative correlation between the sensitivity to reward and quit addiction self-efficacy, and there is a significant positive correlation between the sensitivity to punishment and quit addiction self-efficacy in individual with substance use.Conclusion : The results of this study support the important role of sensitivity to rewards and punishments in substance use and suggests that researchers also consider the sensitivity to rewards and punishments in treating these individual.
