A review of the effect of rose extract on postpartum depression

Introduction and Goal:Postpartum depression is one of the most common problems among women during pregnancy. Therefore, the present study aims at investigating the effects of red roses on postpartum depression for pregnant women in such periods.Materials and Metodes:In this review study, using the keywords Roses, postpartum depression ,women ,conducted at the international Scopus,Magiran,Sid,Web of science,Pubmed,Google scholar,Science direct sites.70 extraction after the evaluation of entry and exit criteris ,20 papers have been removed.Finally,50 papers listed from 2000 to 2019 and their data extracted.Results: The findings revealed that red roses contain therapeutic and anti-depressive components through Adrenregic receptors, Histamin receptors (H1), and induced contraction related to KCI. Anti-depressive activities are accompanied with a reduction in proxidasion lipids and an increase in Antioxidans in the cerebral cortex, and the aroma emanating from red roses can affect the central neural system through two of its main components, i.e. Citronellol and alcohol fennel which can produce anti-anxiety effects. It is believed that red rose oil and rose water can increase vitality and self-confidence as well as increasing Libido.Conclusion: With respect to the findings of the study, it seems that red roses can reduce postpartum depression and anxiety.
