Frequency Analysis of Higher-order Duffing Oscillator using Homotopy and Iteration-Perturbation Techniques

In this paper nonlinear vibration of Duffing oscillators having order of nonlinearity 3, 5 And 7 is analyzed using two methods of homotopy and iteration perturbation. A sensitivity analysis is carried out and performance and accuracy of the two methods are compared.A general trend of variation of the natural frequency with respect to the initial condition is analytically obtained for the two techniques. Very good agreementsbetween the two techniques are achieved.
