چکیده مقاله:

The main purpose of food packaging is prolonging shelf life and it is help to transport them easily. Also food packaging should completely preserving and protecting food from intrinsic, external, oxidation spoilage. In addition food packaging is definer of the product shape and contain message from producer to consumer. Food packaging material should not have any effect on the product and it should be easily decompose and without causing environmental degradation. All of these factors are consumers former expectations about food packaging but technology progress accompany by increasing consumers information, population growth and food availability necessity causes that packaging industry by utilization of new technologies and produce congruous products in order to take customer satisfaction. Using nanotechnology and nanomaterials in order to produce active and smart packaging with antimicrobials specifications, maintain product stability and protect food against spoilage, protecting the product against oxygen and humidity adverse conditions, tracking and product detection capability, extend the shelf life by enhance food quality, easy to use through the self-heating and self-cooling packages. The unique features of these packages causes to make different style of packaging for specific product. Use nanotechnology in food industry increasing food safety with the use of nanosensors we can accurately detect pathogens, infectious agents and allergic, so it has been used extensively in the packaging industry and leads to produce packages with special features. Active and smart packaging are one of the most important modern packaging that used in the food and medicine industry. These packaging system are able to repair pores or gaps in the package and due to different environmental conditions they show different reactions or in the case of food contamination it warns the consumer. Tracking and product detection capability, enhance biological nutrient availability, prolong the duration of food storage by maintaining the food quality and easy to use through the self-heating/cooling packages are other benefits of this type of packaging.
