چکیده مقاله:

Background: Tracheal intubation, a commonly used procedure in operating rooms, intensive care units and some other hospital wards, is accompanied by difficulties in performance. Preoperative airway assessment help anticipate a difficult airway. Difficult intubation could lead to lethal complications, and failed endotracheal intubation is one of the principal causes of morbidity and mortality in anesthetized patients. So primary diagnosis of this state is a major anesthesiologist s tasks. Methods: In this review study, an overview of the databases SID, IranMedex, PubMed, Google scholar, was used 32 articles(16 internal, 16 external) were obtained. Used keyword include difficult intubation, predicting difficult intubation, Mallampati, difficult intubation tests. The evaluated tests in the above studies include Mallampati score, Modified Mallampati, Facial Angle, Neck circumference minus Acromione-Acromion distance(NEMA), upper lip bite test, thyromental distance measurement test, Cormack and Lehane grade, thyromental height test, neck circumvent and … the sensitivity and specificity of amount these tests, were compared with each other. Results: According to the consideration Mallampati score and ULBT Respectively % 79,3 , (%50-96,64) of sensitivity and (63,7-%93,5) and (82-95,2) specificity , and Thyromental distance measurement test with %77,01 specificity were the most recommended test . Conclusions: According to considered articles , among the all these test s , Mallampati score and upper lip bite test have the highest balance of sensitivity And Mallampati score and upper lip bite test and Thyromental distance measurement test has highest specificity.
