The Necessity of Caring the Patients with Stroke - A Review Study

چکیده مقاله:

Backgrounds and Objective: Stroke as most common cerebrovascular disorder is the second and third cause of disability in advanced countries and death. In addition it leads to mental, emotional, emotional, psychological, functional and social. In protecting such patients, one of the essential elements is the caregivers to receive proper education for the skills required to perform their supportive role. This study examines the importance of caregiver teaching in supporting the stroke patients. Search Method: This study was a review. To collect data and access the related scientific documentation, electronic search was conducted during the years 2000 to 2018 with Persian databases including Medlib Medical Bulletin, Magiran Publications Database etc. Among the article found, the related 57 articles included. Findings: The reviewed studies show a high level of care in family caregivers of people with stroke. The disease duration, its progressive course, definitive treatment lack and moderate to severe dependence on the caregiver lead to a two-fold increase in the burden of care which can lead to disorders such as depression, anxiety and physical problems in patients’ caregivers. Also, evidence show continuous stress caregivers leads to a decrease in physical health and low quality of care. A review of the above studies suggests family caregivers suffer from stroke with multiple problems and many challenges. Caregiver, also faces serious help during the care to be able in adapting themselves with the patient s conditions. Conclusion: One of the essential elements in supporting patients with stroke is their caregivers support. It is implemented through acquire the necessary skills to carry out their supporting role. Basically, it is necessary to support various aspects of emotional, informational, careful, educational, and instrumental support.
