Study of the relationship between quality of life and anhedonia among students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences: A descriptive-analytic study

چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective: One of the pillars of health assessment of various communities is the mental health of that community. Mental health plays an important role in ensuring the dynamism and efficiency of each community. A review of the research shows that the prevalence and severity of mental disorders in students have increased in comparison to the non-student population. Therefore, in this research, we tried to study the relationship between quality of life and anhedonia among students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-analytic cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the relationship between quality of life and Anhedonia among students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences on 285 students in 2018. To collect data of a three-part questionnaire that included demographic characteristics, the quality of life questionnaire (12 questions) and anhedonia questionnaire has been used. At the end, the information was entered into SPSS-16 software. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and independent T-test, ANOVA, Tukey s follow-up. Findings: The results of this study showed that there is no significant relationship between gender (male and female), field of study, marital status (single and married), with anhedonia, physical health, mental health, and overall health status(P> 0.05). There is also no significant relationship between the level of education (undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D.) and physical and mental health status (P> 0.05), But the amount of enjoyment in master s degree students was higher than that of Ph.D students. There was no significant relationship between residence (dormitory and native) and pleasure and health status(P> 0.05), but there was a significant relationship with physical and mental health status(P<0.05). There was also no significant relationship between anhedonia and physical and mental health(P> 0.05). Conclusion: Comparison of the findings of this study showed that there is no significant relationship between quality of life and anhedonia among students of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences.
