Enhanced Geotechnics and Geothermics for Cost Optimised and Sustainable Foundation Systems

Cost optimisation and sustainability are the most important aspects for any construction. That means saving the resources material, money and time and treating the environment with care. The special foundation system Combined Pile Raft Foundation (CPRF), load tests on the construction yard and piles incorporated in a geothermal system allow a cost optimised construction and guarantee sustainability in its construction and service time. Load tests and the observational method are necessary for high quality design of foundation systems. The basics of a cost optimised design will be explained and the application in engineering practice will be shown on realised high-rise building projects.
