Fiber reinforced composite materials (FRP) are known as one of the new technologies for strengthening and improving concretestructures. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of parameters such as FRP thickness, matrix typeand strengthening method on the behavior of concrete columns under seismic loads. In this study, cyclic tests were performed onFRP-reinforced concrete columns. The samples included columns with different thicknesses of FRP (one to five layers), differentmatrices (epoxy, polyester, and vinyl ester) and various strengthening methods (full lap, local strengthening, and flexuralstrengthening). The results of the experiments were validated using numerical modeling. The investigated parameters includedbearing capacity, ductility, hysteresis behavior and shear strength. The results showed that the use of FRP increases the bearingcapacity of the columns by ۵۰%. FRP thickness had a direct effect on axial capacity and energy absorptionBut the thickness of morethan three layers led to a relative decrease in ductility. The type of matrix also played a key role; The epoxy matrix showed the bestperformance in different environmental conditions. Among the strengthening methods, the full lap was the most effective methodto improve the strength and ductility of the columns. FRP as an effective solution in the seismic improvement of concrete columnsincreases resistance, ductility and energy absorption. However, to achieve optimal performance, careful design of parameters suchas FRP thickness, matrix type, and reinforcement method is necessary. This research provides valuable results for improving thedesign and implementation of FRP in civil projects.
