چکیده مقاله:
To investigate the association between Iranian children and adolescents parental lifestyle and social capital and psychiatric disorders. Method: This crosssectional study was a part of a national project implemented in all provinces of Iran. In this community-based study, using a multistage cluster sampling method, we selected 688 children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years in Yazd province. The total sample size reached to 1035. After collecting 170 blocks randomly, we separated six instances consisting of 3 instances of each gender in various age groups (6-9 years, 10-14 years, and 15-18 years), from each branch. The clinical psychologists educated the participants to complete the Persian version of Kiddie-Sads-Present and Lifetime Version (K-SADS-PL). Also, demographic data (gender, age, education, parent education, and economic situation) and information on the parental lifestyle and social capital were obtained. Results: The findings suggest that unhealthy lifestyle (except for the component of spirituality, social health, and the avoidance of drugs - p> .01) may be the risk factor for production of psychiatric disorders on children and adolescents, but parent s social capital is not a predictor of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents. Conclusion: The lifestyle and parent s social capital of children with psychiatric disorders were different from that of children without psychiatric disorders.
