QTL meta-analysis for yield and it s components traits in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L)

Wheat is one of the most important world s cereals. QTL meta-analysis is the most accurate way to identify gene regions associated with quantitative traits in plants [3]. Because of low heritability of yield related traits, getting information about the genomic regions of these traits is very important [3] therefore, 1976 QTLs for yield and yield components related traits from 55 publications was collected. The highest number of QTLs was associated with height (38%), grain weight (19%) and yield (6%) as well as the r2 and lod score of QTLs was calculated as 0.1 and 4.3 on average respectively. The 2011 and 2012 wheat consensus maps with 5636 markers were used as genetic reference map. Meta-analysis was conducted for 868 real QTLs by BioMercator v4.2 and principles of [1 and 2]. Finally, 71 MQTLs and 195 flank markers was identified on 21 wheat chromosomes so that most of MQTLs was located on chromosomal groups 3, 4 and 5. Length of MQTLs confidence intervals on chromosomal groups 3, 5, 6 and 7 was more than 80 cM, shows that 15 percent of wheat genome is covered by yield related traits which these MQTL regions can be used for candidate gene identification.
