چکیده مقاله:
Acrylic resins has high optical clarity and favorable combination of stiffness, and toughness depending the type of acrylic homo polymer or copolymer. They also havegood chemical resistance, thermal and electrical properties. Some mechanical properties of acrylic resin after addition of inorganic Al2SiO5 filler in different concentrations has been investigated during heat curing. Several specimens were constructed, some of them were prepared from heat cure Acrylic resin without additives and the rest were prepared from heat cure acrylic resin with adding of Al2SiO5 composite filler which divided into 3test groups according to different percentage (3%, 5%, and 7%) ratios. The test performed which was used for them were impact strength, surface hardness and surface roughness. Also some specimens were carefully prepared for FTIR test. The results of addition Al2SiO5 particles to Acrylic resin record a highly significant increase in impact strength, surface hardness and surface roughness. For impact strength test, the highest value was for specimens containing 3% Al2SiO5. The impact strength decrease with increase particle percentage of more than 3%compared with non-reinforced group. About the surface roughness, the results showed a highly significant increase in surface roughness with increase the filler content. This may be due to differences in particle roughness.
