Background: nursing care of burn patients is one of the most special types of cares that needs comprehensive outlook to all aspects of human essence. Burn patients are often faced to a wide range of physiological and psychological problems that make it necessary for nurses to have enough knowledge and attitude about all aspects of personal health including physical, psychosocial and spiritual health domains. Such a holistic and difficult care plan needs a systematic and basic framework. In spite of the necessity of models and theories in this regard, only few studies have been considered nursing theories for burn nursing care. This study is inquired into the decuple of Watson’s Humanity Nursing Theory for holistic care of burn patients.Methods: in this review article data collected by search data sources PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, Scopus, CINAHL, using common keywords related to Nursing Theory, Humanities, Burns and then selected related article published between Jun2010 to 2018.Results: human values, charity, curative intrapersonal communication, empathy, spirituality, adaptation, decision making, problem solving, healing and suitable environment, supportive education, enabling patients to self care are the most important factors in holistic nursing care of burn patients based on Watson’s Humanity Nursing Theory.Conclusion: among the existing nursing models and theories, Watson’s Humanity Theory is one the best ones for planning and executing nursing cares due to its consideration to humanity and holistic care of patients.
