The Effect of age on Acoustic Dissimilation in Colloquial Persian

In the present article ten individuals participated in a study of dissimilated sounds in order toexamine the effect of age on acoustic dissimilation in colloquial Persian. Participants included equalnumbers of males and females and all of them have born in Tehran and only speak in standard Persian astheir first language. Each individual articulated a set of Persian words including dissimilation. Statisticallyno significant differences were found for gender. These results suggest that there is not a significant relationbetween the acoustic basis of dissimilation in colloquial Persian on one hand, and the variable of age on theother.
