چکیده مقاله:

Concepts of oppression, subjugation, discrimination, and mastery have always been behind one group’styrannizing the other one. These can range from oppression of women by men, black by white, to today’s concerns overman’s enslaving Nature. While we are living in a postmodern age and we have access to better means of living, we stillwitness the tendency of some to impose injustice on others. Considering the fact that all of us are born free and have theright to live as we wish, we still witness oppressive milieus which make us wonder whether the oppressors are reallyentitled to act so and limit others for the sake of their own well-being and benefit. As long as historical records stand, such issues have been age-old topics of discussion among different nations of the world in particular the subjugatedones. Among such hot topics of discussion, issues related to black women always catch our attention. That said, thepresent paper is an effort to focus on some selected poems of Maya Angelou (1928-2014) and Mary Oliver (1935- ) inthe lens of Ecofeminism to shed light on the intersections of womanhood and affinity with Nature as a key to subvertmale patriarchy.
