Studying on Advantages of Value Engineering in Civil Projects Especially in Road and Transportation Projects

Regarding to increasing advances and developments in different sciences specially, engineering sciences, value engineering has been attracted attention to decrease costs and increase efficiency about 50 years all around the world. Value engineering has been in agenda of ministries which perform executive projects, for thirty years in Iran. Advantages of using this method include time and executive decreasing, optimizing executive process, improving quality, etc. current research has tried to introduce value engineering addition to studying its advantages and disadvantages as well as experiences of using this engineering inside and outside the country. Hence, value engineering as a systematic and innovative method aimed achieving desired functionality has not negative effect on reliability, efficiency, repair and maintenance capacities.
