Studying the Results of Using FRP Fibers in Concrete Columns and Foundations

Today, FRPs are widely used due to their properties such as resistance against corrosion, low weight and simple application more than past. These composite materials consist of two parts; fiber and reinforced fibers and they are placed in resin as background material. Today, these materials are made and used for various applications and in different shapes such as reinforced bars, plates, cables, strips, pre-stressed tendons, building profiles and composite grids. Current research has tried to study various examples of armored concrete columns with circular and rectangular sections which have been modeled in program addition to introduce FRPs and their applications. Experiments include reinforced columns by FRP, non-reinforced columns and under different loadings. Finally, obtained results showed that reinforced columns have higher plasticity, inflexibility and resistance.
