چکیده مقاله:

Structural columns are the key load bearing components in the buildings. In fact, under explosion (blast) loading, external columns in building structures are most vulnerable and most critical structural members. The explosions occurred near buildings can suddenly cause the rupture and removing of columns of the building frames that can be followed by progressive collapse of the whole building or portions of that. In this paper using LS-DYNA R8.0 (2014) software, a numerical simulation of the dynamic behavior of reinforced concrete columns with various axial load levels under different blast loads (charge weights) is implemented. The finite element model has been validated using experimentally test results that have been published in literature. The parametric study to investigate factors affecting the response of RC columns is done that the variables such as the percentage of transverse reinforcement, the weight of explosive charge and aspect ratio of the column are considered. According to the main results, after a certain charge weight, residual deformation becomes very high. Changing of the percentage of the transverse reinforcement and the amount of axial reinforcement has a great effect on the amount of residual deflection of column and its blast resistance.
