چکیده مقاله:

In this work, BiFeO3 nanoparticles (BFO NPs) as the visible-light photocatalyst were successfully synthesized via solution combustion method using glycine as the fuel. The BFO NPs were prepared in three molar ratios of fuel-to-oxidant (F/O = 0.3, 0.555, 0.8). The effect of F/O ratio on the phase composition of the as-synthesized product was investigated. Phase identification and crystallite size of as-prepared samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction. The band gap was calculated about 2.14 eV, indicating a good absorption of visible-light regime by the synthesized nanopowder. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized NPs was examined through benzene removal from the aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The effect of adding H2O2 as oxidant on the photocatalytic activity of BFO was also studied.
