The Effectiveness of International Humanitarian Assistance at Bam Earthquake: Regional Stakeholders Viewpoints

Introducation and Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of one of humanitarian assistance organizations at Bam earthquake. Methods: We conducted a qualitative study and interviewed with regional stakeholders who had an official position at Bam earthquake. Results: Women’s empowerment, involvement of the affected population in relief actions, respect culture and humanitarian principals were the strengths of the studied organization, while focus on changes in lives of target groups, economic growth and poverty reduction were the main weaknesses. Conclusion: The results of this study could be useful for decision makers, and humanitarian assistance organizations toimprove the effectiveness of international affairs.
