Study of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties in a V-Groove Quantum Wire

In this paper, we calculate the refractive index changes and absorption coefficient in a V-groove quantum wire. We use analytical expressions for the linear and third-order nonlinear intersubband absorption coefficient and refractive index changes. We calculate these optical properties and plot their as a function of photon energy for different structure parameters of the quantum wire. We found that the structure parameters of the quantum wire play the important roles in obtaining the mentioned optical properties.
