چکیده مقاله:

Anxiety is a type of mental illness that, if continued for a long time, causes physical and mental illness. Anxiety control is possible in a variety of ways. The choice of the path depends on the type of disorder and the patient s personality which among them is psychotherapy and drug therapy. Considering the complications of taking medications and increasing the amount of herbal medicine, the anti-anxiety effect of sumac extract was investigated in this study. Sumac used in two different regions of Tabriz and Khorasan Razavi were prepared. After extraction, three doses of 200, 100, 50 mg/kg of extract were prepared. For injection, 50 male Rats were used in 5 groups of 10. One group was the control group that received only water and food. Group 2, 3, and 4 received doses of 50,100,200 mg / kg of extract, respectively. Buperson was injected as the sedative anti-anxiety agent into the last group. Then, FST, OFT and Elevated plusmaze tests were performed. The forced swimming test showed the effectiveness of the extract in all concentrations as a decrease in motionlessness duration. In the open box test, in the doses used, a relative and perceptible increase number of crossings lines have been observed. The percentage of elapsed time in the open arms and the number of entries to the open arms in the group treated with all doses, especially the dose of 50, has shown a significant increase. In general, the results indicate antianxiety and somewhat stimulatory effects of sumac extract in the doses. Significant anti-anxiety and somewhat provocative effects of sumac extract are in doses used and the significant anti-anxiety effects of this extract are reported in the Elevated plus-maze test in this study
