Exploration of Productivity in Primary Health Care Providers of Zahedan Health System in 2018

Introduction: Human resources are counted as one of the most important factors in development of any organization. The present study aimed to assess Primary Health Care (PHC) Providers’ productivity in Zahedan health centers in 2018.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Zahedan University of Medical Sciences in 2018. 127 PHC Providers were selected using census method. Data collection was done through Hersey & Goldsmith Workforce Productivity Questionnaire, which contains two main partsdemographic information and productivity assessing questions. Descriptive and statistical methods were used to analyze the data, such as T-tests, one-way ANOVA, regression model, and Pearson correlation 2-tailed.Results: Mean age of Zahedan PHC Providers was 33.6 years; %3 of the staff were male and %97 were female. Based on our findings mean productivity score was 63.3±12.9, that is defined as moderate.Conclusion: In the present study productivity lied into the range of moderate. We suggest that better motivation of the staff can promote productivity in health centers.
