چکیده مقاله:

The imidazole ring system is an important structural feature in biological systems, natural products and drugs. On the other hand, the structurally similar tetrazole functional group is much less abundant but the use is increasing due to the excellent properties as a metabolically stable isosteric replacement for the carboxylic acid moiety and as a cispeptide bond mimetic. Tetrazoles have also been used as precursors to other heterocycles7 and in high energy compounds [1] In this research work, we synthesized some new compounds of alkyl tetrazoles. Therefore, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyd (1) in reaction with NH2OH was converted to 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde oxime (2). The obtained compound was dehydrated by acetic anhydride to give 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzonitrile (3). Then, 2-methoxy-4-(2H-tetrazol-5-yl)phenol(4) was prepared by [2+3] cycloaddition reaction between (3) and NaN3.Compound4-(2-ethyl-2H-tetrazol-5yl)-2-methoxyphenol (5) produced from the reaction of compound (4) with ethyl iodide.. The structure of all the synthesized compounds were characterized and confirmed by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy techniques.
