چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: Cancer is now becoming prevalent worldwidewith a great number of researches focusing on the treatment of thisdisease. Nowadays, with the field of nanotechnology great advancementsin cancer therapy have been achieved. Here, we propose a new andpromising approach for bone-related cancer treatments with the aid ofa core-shell system composed of magnetic nanoparticles (MNP, core)encapsulated in bioactive glass nanoparticles (BGN, shell). Methods: Initially MNPs were synthesized using the co-precipitationmethod and fully characterized. Optimized structure of MNP was thencoated using BGNs. then using a sol-gel technique by a cationic surfactant(CTAB) for encapsulating the Fe3O4 nanoparticles in a Bioglass Matrixas a shell. Results: These particles were evaluated using SEM, FE-SEM, TEM, XRD,VSM, FTIR, DLS/Zeta potential and VSM. Results confirmed the formationof MNPs with a spherical and uniform structure with high crystallinityand purity. BGNs showed to be bioactive by forming a hydroxyapatitelayer on their surface. In addition, the hyperthermia application of MNPBGNcore-shell system was also studied. It was found that the particlesreach a temperature of 42°C in an alternating magnetic field. Conclusion: Overall, it is suggested that the particles have a great dualapplication in magnetic hyperthermia and bone regeneration.
