چکیده مقاله:
Excited state intra-molecular proton transfer (ESIPT) [1] has been emerged as aninteresting event that can be utilized in both chemistry and biochemistry for design of fluorescentchemosensors, UV photo-stabilizers, and photo-switches. ESIPT is a photo-excited intramolecularPT in which is usually characterized by very short lifetimes (k ~ 1013 s-1), large Stokesshifts (as large as 10 000 cm-1) and often relatively low fluorescence quantum yields, that enablesto achieve emission at low frequencies even with a UV stimulus [2]. The purpose of the presentwork is to study the photo-switching in 9-hydroxybenzo[4,5]thieno[3,2-b]pyridine5-5-dioxide(HTPD) (Scheme 1) at M06-2XD/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. To the best of our knowledge,there is no investigation on the ESIPT process in HTPD.
