چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim: To determine the level of nutritional knowledge and using food labels by clients of Health Centers in Khorramabad city in 2018Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 2 health centers were chosen randomly from 12 health centers, and then the questionnaires, according to the available sampling method, were distributed among 137 of the clients. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.Results: 26.3% of the clients were in the lowest classification of the awareness of the information on food packages and 67.9% percent of the clients, while shopping, would read the food labels. There was no association between the awareness of food labels and age and sex. There was no association between the use of food labels and sex and marital status. There was no association between the awareness and use of labels with BMI, energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat, cholesterol, saturated fat and fiber intake.Conclusion: The results showed generally people s awareness rate concerning the information on food labels, particularly the nutritional information, is low .Thus teaching people about interpretation of the information on food labels is imperative to increase their awareness and to help them have healthier food choices.
