Identity in Dwelling Spaces

Design nowadays is a complex pervasive activity which is no longer theexclusive support to the industrial process but a strategy that supervises theentire cycle of production and relates it to the social, economic and culturalcontext of the territories in which it develops.The reconfiguration of this discipline opens up the way for new scenarios andcan help to breathe new life into many geographical areas which are dominatedby the prevalence of a manufacturing production and by a clear culturalidentity. This new disciplinary vision concerns both the identity of the objectsand the identity of the interior spaces in which our lifes takes place.However, in order to feed this process it is necessary to move away fromsimplifying design languages which excludes the manual expertise and themulti-layered knowledge. It is therefore important to back up a new field ofresearch to develop instruments, practice and languages that can support acomplex and diversified view to interior design.A small revolution is already under-way.
