Effect of poly aromatics hydrocarbons,Trace elementsand lead on renal function of Iraqi s workers at petrol stations

Objective: The present study investigates the changes in serum urea and creatinine to evaluate the renal function. Methods:The study include 60 male petrol-filling workers and compares them with corresponding values in 30 sex- and age-matched control group. Results: Non significant differences was found (p0.05) in Age, weight, height, BMI, Cu, Zn, Se. Serum urea and creatinine levels were non significantly elevated (p0.05) in all workers at Petrol station .Serum Fe and PAHs were significantly elevated (p0.05) in workers . Conclusion: Gasoline-filling workers do not show marked changes in most of serum renal function which were not positively correlated with the duration ofexposure. While poly aromatic hydrocarbons shows positively correlated with the duration of exposure.
