چکیده مقاله:
The recent research manifests the advanced age itself considerably enhances the likelihood of metabolic disorders, even if there are no other risk factors. Age increased inflammation phenomenon that have further important role in the pathogenesis of metabolic disturbances. Chrysin (CH), a natural flavonoid, was mainly discovered in honey and propolis that has been confirmed to be effective in decreasing cholesterol and glucose levels, and it turns, induces a reduction the development of the metabolic disturbances. Therefore, the aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of chrysin against age-associated mitigate inflammation, hyperglycemia, and hypercholesterolemia. Male Wistar rats (2 month-old, 10 months-old and 20 month-old) were applied in this research. Chrysin (20 mg/kg body) was injected intraperitoneally (i.p.) for 30 days. The finding showed an abnormally elevated inflammatory cytokines, glucose, and lipid profiles in the serum of the aged rats when compared to the young rats, although, chrysin treatment ameliorated these alterations in the serum of 20 month-old aged rats. Furthermore, chrysin reversed the levels of adiponectin, HDL-C, and insulin in the serum of 20 month-old aged rats. The current study shows the metabolic disorder and inflammatory responses during aging and further confirms chrysin has an effective function in attenuating lipid anomalies, glucose, and inflammation.
