چکیده مقاله:

Background: Hydatidiform mole is a kind of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) and is the most common form.About 80% of hydatidiform mole are not cancerous and regress, impromptu. Regarding 15-20% invade encompass tissue and tend to persist. Of these invasive moles, 2-3% become cancerous and extends throughout the body through the lymphatic vessels or bloodstream. Hydatidiform mole diagnosis is performed by pre-evacuation ultra-sonographic study, lab tests and ultimately histopathological examination as gold standard. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the clinical, Ultra-sonographic and histopathological profiles in gestational trophoblastic diseases, Kosar Hospital.Materials and methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted among the 120 patient with clinical impression of molar pregnancy that undergone suction and sharp curettage who referred to Kosar Hospital from April 2012 to April 2014. The data from these participants were obtained by a check list (demographic data and clinical presentations) and histopathology report. Both descriptive and statistical analysis methods were applied value < 0.05 was significant.Result: Out of 120 cases with clinical impression of molar pregnancy, 105 cases were confirmed by histopathological diagnosis. Age range of subjects in this study was 17-38 years. The most frequent presentation was vaginal bleeding in the first trimester. The summarizing histopathological diagnosis comprises: 21 cases of complete mole, 80 partial moles and 4 invasive moles. Aside from 105 cases with histopathological diagnosis mole only in 6 cases misdiagnosed by ultrasonoghraphy (4.1%) therefore high degree of agreement between ultrasonography and histopathological diagnosis is seen. Conclusion: Routine sonography in first trimester is advised for early. Ultrasonographic study joined with clinical presentations, and histopathological evaluation as gold standard have high efficacy in diagnosing mole.
