Convenient and mild synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran derivatives catalyzed by Tin(II) chloride as an efficient catalyst under ambient temperature

A simple and one-pot procedure for the preparation of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran derivatives through the one-pot three-component condensation of aldehyde derivatives, malononitrile and dimedone catalyzed by Tin(II) chloride (SnCl2) under mild reaction conditions is presented. The main advantages of this protocol include simple procedure, excellent yields and short reaction times besides the non-toxicity, high stability of the catalyst
