Asset Corrosion Management in the Oil Industry

Corrosion is one of the main integrity threats in the oil industry and it is properly tackled through appropriate and timely corrosion engineering and corrosion management applications. However, due to our poor understanding of corrosion management , its principles are not often adequately and appropriately implemented. Therefore, this paper looks into the corrosionmanagement concept, scope , applications and benefits in the oil industry with more scrutiny . It also discusses the existing shortcomings in the training and education of the corrosion engineering in the field of asset corrosion management.
