Incidence and typing of Listeria monocytogenes strains in local fish market in Shahekord, Iran)

Contamination of seafood products to pathogenic forms of Listeria is considered as a significant threat to public health. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence and typing of Listeria monocytogenes in fish market. A total of 100 rainbow trout were randomly collected from retail outlets in Shahrekord for examination of the occurrence and typing of Listeria monocytogenes using biochemical methods. Four samples of L. monocytogenes was isolated. One of them was L. inovaii and rest of them were L. monocytogenes Strains. The highest antibacterial activity against all isolated bacteria samples were observed in oxacillin in order to none bacterial growth zone by the antibiotic disc diffusion method.
