The Difference between Reported Speech in Standard English And Standard Persian

This study is an attempt to investigate the difference between Persian and English in dealing with reported speech. I am searching whether students errors of constructing English indirect speech constructions are due to interference with that of their mother tongue.To conduct the research, 20 female students were selected. They were English intermediatelearners whose first language was Persian. The students were supposed to translate 20 Persian reported speech sentences into English.In this study, the researcher suggested the following null hypothesis: H0: There is no difference between English and Persian reported speech. At the end my hypothesis was rejected
