چکیده مقاله:

This research study aimed to investigate the roles of gender and work experience in teacher burnout. For this purpose, the study used a convenience sample of 202 EFL teachers (101= females and 101=males), working at different private language institutes in Mashhad, to participate in the study. The participants were classified into three groups based on their work experience (i.e., G1: from less than 1 year to 5 years (n = 80), G2: from 6 to 10 years (n = 57), and G3: more than 10 years (n = 65)). Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used to gather the required data of the study. To analyze the data, a one-way ANOVA and an independent-samples t-test were utilized. The findingsexhibited that there was not any statistically significant difference among teachers from three groups of work experience regarding their burnout. However, there was a statistically significant difference between male and female teachers with regard to their burnout. Finally, the findings were discussed in light of teacher education research and potential implications were put forward
