چکیده مقاله:

Transit- Oriented development (TOD) can set an example for future development by addressing interplay between Transportation and development to develop sustainablecommunities. TOD planning process considers several aspects to deliver comprehensive solutions. To reach successful TOD, people s point of view as the most impressiblestakeholder group should be included in terms of measuring the level of consistency between people s needs and TOD strategies. Few studies, however, have tried to meetpeople s needs during planning for TOD. The purpose of the study is to consider public point of view in the planning process by an empirical study. To do this, at first, TODdimensions of which people seem to be role-players were extracted by reviewing the literature. Then, people s outlooks were gathered by conducting a cross- sectional studyand were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Proceed to the process, station area of a bus Transit Center (TC), located in city center of Sanandaj, was demarcated as a case by a600-meter radius. The results demonstrated that various viewpoints tend to be generally adversary or supportive for TOD planning so that perspectives encourage diversity, accessibility, connectivity and design concepts and interestingly, stood against higher densities and low parking spaces.
