Making it Happen: CALT as an Innovative Method of Language Testing via Computer Technology

This paper reports on one of themost innovative methods in the field of language assessment and testing, Computer Assisted Language Testing (CALT).The purpose of this article is to discuss CALT as a recent technological innovation in language testing that directly involves computer use both in high and low stakes English language testing. After a brief overview of CALT in general, potential benefits, pitfalls and implications of CALT are discussed and reviewed
