چکیده مقاله:
The present study investigates the relationship of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and assertiveness with Iranian EFL learners’ course achievement. In order to meet the objectives of the study a convenient sampling procedure was exerted and 29 males and 74 Iranian EFL learners at Shiraz University were selected to function as the participants of the study. Two different instruments on (EI) containing 33 questions and on assertiveness containing 30 questions were used. Descriptive and inferential statistics procedures, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and t-test, were employed to analyze the data of the study. Statistical procedures were used to analyze data revealed that there is a significant relationship between (EI) and course achievement. In addition, step wise analysis showed that (EI) is a good predicator of course achievement. The results also illustrated that there is no significant difference between males and females in either (EI) or assertiveness; but for implication, it can be studied and analyzed more by considering the effect of reverse engineering on it
