چکیده مقاله:
Learning is a complex and long process especially when it deals with a foreign language like English. It differs according to the context, place, time and types of learners. This article aimed to provide an overview in theories of learning, their leaders, and the main perspective; because a learning theory is an attempt to describe how people learn to provide us with a framework and suggest practical solutions to problems. There are many general factors that influence second language learning such as age, gender, aptitude, cognitive style, learner strategies, personality and the four main categories of these theories which are behaviorism, cognitivist, constructivism, and humanism. This paper concludes that EFL teachers need to know different types of learning, strategies and theories so that they could take the advantage of the theoretical foundation in their classroom
