چکیده مقاله:

A new system is introduced to measure the relative isotopic abundance of oxygen isotopes in the water usinggas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Electrolysis process was done with an undivided cell equipped with platinumanode, copper as cathode and CuSO4 as electrolyte. Water is transformed into oxygen gas and then, produced gas issubsequently analyzed with a GC-MS instrument. Obtained results revealed that it is reliable, cheap, and fast and can beeasily automated. The new method would be an acceptable alternative to the traditional H2O-CO2 equilibrium method.
