چکیده مقاله:

Breast cancer is the second and the most common cancer among women in the world, but its diagnosis in the early stages increases the chance of recovery and survival of the patient. Cancer-testis (CT) antigens are a large family of genes that are selectively expressed in human testis germ cells, overexpressed in a variety of tumors and predominantly located on the X chromosome. To date, all known CT antigens are protein-coding genes. The miR-888 is the first miRNA with features characteristic of a CT antigen.Materials and Methods: In this project, the Real-Time RT-PCR technique was used to analyze expression of mir-888 and E-cadheri gene as its target in tumor and normal adjacent breast tissue of 35 patients with ductal carcinoma breast cancer compared with normal adjacent breast tissues. Result: Our data showed significantly upregulation of mir-888 as well as E-cadherin down regulation as its target gene in tumors compared with normal adjacent breast tissues. Conclusion: The mir-888 may be considered as a potential biomarker related to breast cancer.
