چکیده مقاله:

Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most common causes of physical disabilitiesduring childhood. The main causes of functional impairment in children with CP are poor postural control and neuromuscular symptoms, but often secondary disorders such as seizure, visual and hearing impairments, behavioral problems and cognitive impairment are raised in the early stages of the brain development in these children. The aim of this study was to review on new intervention approaches for children with a variety of CP disabilities. The following databases were searched: CINAHL, Cochrane Library, DARE, EMBASE, Google Scholar MEDLINE, OTSeeker, PEDro, PsycBITE, and PsycINFO. Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (COOP) , Cognitive approach , Cognitive Strategy , and Cerebral Palsy were used to search for relevant articles published between 1998 and 2017. Approximately 200 papers were found using the above-mentioned keywords in which only 5 of them fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion. Intervention for children with CP has focused on bottom-up approaches during the first few years of life, without emphasize performance in everyday activities. More recently a number of approaches have been developed based on top-down or task-specific approaches. Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) is a client-centered, performance-based, problemsolving approach that enables skill acquisition through a process of strategy use and guided discovery . It follows four aims; Skill acquisition, Strategy use, Generalization, and Transfer. CO-OP is a task-specific, cognitive approach that was used with children with CP ages 7 to 12 but has not yet appeared as the gold standard for improving the activity and participation of children with CP
